I am working with the whole class on how to study for a test. It is important for students to build strong independent study skills to prepare for middle school, high school, and college. I am showing students how to create flash cards and what to write in them. As we get closer to the tests I will model how to study at home as well. I appreciate your continued support and interest in your child's education.

HOW CAN I IMPROVE MY STUDY SKILLS?
Do not wait until the last minute to study.

What do I write on my flashcards?
Vocabulary word on one side and the definition on the other side. Write out the page #, chapter, and lesson.

At the beginning of each lesson write out the WHAT TO KNOW question. Then write out the checks under WHAT TO KNOW.  Write the answers on the other side.

Write out the reading check question and the answer on the other side.

When I finished explaining this in class, the students were talking about how much work this is, I told them that good grades TAKE A LOT OF EFFORT!
